Greater Noida. A particularly environmentally friendly Bayer MaterialScience office building in India has received the top ranking in the international Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system. The zero-energy building in Greater Noida outside of New Delhi was awarded Platinum in the category New Construction. It received 64 out of 69 possible points – the highest score anywhere in the world so far. » more

Commitment of Bayer Employees Bears Fruit

Sichuan. Four years ago a devastating earthquake shook the province of Sichuan in China. More than 80,000 people died, numerous people lost all their possessions and many places of work and educational institutions were desolated. Bayer responded to the emergency with an extensive aid program. Employees from all around the world made donations to aid projects that the Bayer Cares Foundation had launched in the earthquake zone. Hamburg. Recognition for state-of-the-art communication: Bayer has picked up four of the coveted trophies at the World Media Awards in Hamburg. Bayer Has Great Potential for the Future Too

Cologne. 2011 was a good year for the Bayer Group both strategically and operationally. "Our business was very successful and we achieved our targets for the Group," said Management Board Chairman Dr. Marijn Dekkers at the Annual Stockholders’ Meeting in Cologne, Germany, on Friday. The stockholders are to benefit from this success through an increased dividend of EUR 1.65 (2010: EUR 1.50) per share. This gives a total dividend payment of EUR 1.4 billion. Dekkers described the company’s start to the 2012 fiscal year as encouraging. » more

Leverkusen. World Malaria Day: Every year one million people worldwide die of the disease, which is often caused by a bite from an infected mosquito. Together with Nobel prize-winner Professor Richard Axel, Bayer researchers are now working on a ground-breaking approach. They are looking for substances that block the mosquito's olfactory receptors and make it incapable of smelling. The mosquito would then be unable to find its victim or a mate. BNC TV reports. » more
